Baghouse bassist announces side projects
Baghouse bassist, Jeff Rieter, will debut two solo expression side projects
in the coming months. They are Transambient
Bass and Oxygen Tent. Transambient
bass is a solo expression consisting of ambient soundscapes and kinetic
drum n bass inspired rhythms produced solely through the manipulation of
the vibrations of the strings of an electric bass. Oxygen Tent is intended
as the polar opposite using the vibrations of electric bass strings to create
harsh abstract bass centric noisescapes.

given residency at Knitting Factory in June
Baghouse will spend the summer collaborating with Mark E Morse ( guitar/
laptop) recording in April and touring around a residency at the famed Knitting Factory in NYC Fridays in June.

"Athens, Georgia-based Baghouse performs a dreamy mix of jungle,
techstep and ambient drum'n'bass excursions, linked together through intermittent
downtempo, trip-hop and free-jazz transitional elements. This fully improvised
musical agglomeration has been dubbed "ambient-core" by the Athens,
Georgia entertainment weekly Flagpole Magazine. The group's latest project,
with Jeff Rieter on Bass and loops, Andrew Robison on drums and percussion,
and Mark Morse on guitar, laptop, samples, loops and effects, takes Baghouse
ever further into the realm of fully improvised, electro-organic live musical
performance."

Bass to play Early Bird series...and more in July
Jeff Rieter will perform as Transambient Bass at AMF's Early Bird series
twice in July. In a setting traditionally dominated by singer songwriters,
Jeff Rieter aims to shake things up and brings elements of electronica and
live improvisation with Transambient Bass.

Tent adds drummer to perform and record
After a successful tour and residency at the Knitting Factory in June, Baghouse
bassist, Jeff Rieter will be devoting attention to Oxygent Tent, bringing
aboard electronic drummer/ percussionist Brian 'Bronkar' Lee ( also of Will Martin, Cyndi Harvell Band). Following initial rehearsals
in May, Jeff decided to expand the Oxygen Tent concept to include live drums
and an improvised interpretation of what he calls live electronic forms.
Oxygen Tent will debut Friday July 7 , 2001 at the Georgia Theatre with
Slackdaddy and Sci Fu.

Tent Launches MP3 site
Oxygen Tent... live electronic forms has officially released tracks on MP3.com.
The site address is http://www.mp3.com/oxygen_tent. All tracks were recorded live with no overdubs

Oxygen Tent cancels Baltimore performance after terror attacks
Oxygen Tent regrets that they must cancel the scheduled debut appearance
in Baltimore, MD, Thursday September 13th at the 13th Floor. With the uncertain
state of post attack alert in the DC area and the resultant cautionary mood
of the country, Oxygen Tent and the venue collectively decided to cancel
the one off appearance. Oxygen Tent is scheduled to play the 13th Floor
on October 10th.
October 2001- Athens, GA
Oxygen Tent transforms, adds MD 702
In order to pursue other artistic and musical directions, drummer, Brian
'Bronkar' Lee has left Oxygen Tent amicably. This departure follows several
well attended live shows in Athens, Atlanta and beyond. Rather than immediately
replace Lee and because future re- collaboration has not been ruled out,
Jeff has seized this transformation opportunity to use Oxygen Tent as an
outlet for other electronic experiments.
No longer limited to electric bass, Oxygen Tent/ MD 702 intruduces the use
of programmed beats coupled with live improvised bass, samples and FX techniques
to create a live- remix performance. Taking cues from artists like Autechre,
Squarepusher, Uziq and others, Oxygen Tent/ MD702 ventures into IDM, Glitch,
Noize and Hardstep territory. Oxygen Tent/ MD 702 will perform Friday October
26 at Compadres in Athens, GA supporting Ori.
