News for Fall:
Baghouse will be performing at the new Eyedrum
gallery space in the Cabbagetown area of Atlanta, Georgia, on November 2.
This will be Mark's last performance with us for a few months as he is
departing for Amsterdam a few days after this performance. The show also
features Anamloopantenna and Larvae. At this time, Baghouse will be closing
the evening, but this is subject to change, right up to showtime. Check
the Eyedrum website for driving and
Marta directions.
Earlier news...
Baghouse will be performing a select number of shows during August.
Check the dates page for more info. Make sure to
catch these performances if you're near a show, because Mark will be in
Amsterdam for the following months working on his new international lifestyle
and opening some new musical doors...
Thanks to everyone for making our June tour a big success! A special
thanks to our friends from the Knitting
Factory gigs in NYC. As a result of our efforts, there will be a CD
of the last tour date's performance. Recorded by Jeff Rackley at Eyedrum in Atlanta, the disc will be released
on the Eyedrum's independent label, ED records. Look for more information
as it comes available...
The June tour is a success!
We're pleased to say that the June tour and Knitting
Factory residency is going very well... Thanks go out to our new fans,
especially our international friends! We've also met several musicians on
the road that we hope to be working with in the future. Plus, there exists
a very strong possibility for the release of one of the shows from the tour.
We will keep everyone posted as we filter through the recordings to find
the best of the tour sets.
New Line-up for Spring/Summer 2001!
Baghouse is very happy to be working with Mark Morse on guitar and laptop
computer over the next few months. Mark brings a sound easily as unique
and experimental as any previous Baghouse performer. The band particularly
welcomes his warm embrace of electronic soundscapes and decidedly non-traditional
ways of attacking his Epiphone SG doubleneck guitar.
With extensive digital processing through both his pedals and his computer,
the ability to drop samples from the computer, and of course his mastery
of live looping via the Boomerang phrase sampler, Mark is probably the best
possible collaborator for the Baghouse of today.
The band has been rehearsing and will be performing locally throughout
April and very early May, and will also be recording at Bull Moon Studios
in Atlanta. A tour of the Northeastern United States is planned for June,
which hopefully will be followed by a European tour in the Fall.
